RODS & REELS

Rods & Reels, Flylines, rod weights 

  1. RODS & REELS - We are mainly a Bonefishing fishery,  with good opportunities for Permit, Tarpon and larger snapper species.  RECOMMEND EQUIPMENT 

    • FLY RODS - 8 WT & 9WT OR 10WT

    • REELS - Large ALBOR PREFFERED 

    • FLY LINES -  ALL FLOATING 

    • SPINNING ROD + REEL (travel type)- 10lb-20lb rating, line 20-30lg braid.  Not a must have but good to bring if you have one.

TIP:   CHECK YOUR EQUIPMENT before coming,  lots of times  reels are seized, fly lines are dry rotted etc etc.   We may not have what you need to replace it .

END TACKLE

  • LEADERS - Floro carbon 9-10ft leaders in 12lb, 16lb, 20lb (16lb is our preference) also include a wire leader setup available ready made from most leader companies

    • TIPPET SPOILS in 16lb, 20lb and a spoil of SHOCK TIPPET  40lb or 60lb.

  • END TACKLE

    • FLIES - See FLY SECTION - But most important  is to have a variety of  Weight’s- Lead to Bead eyes, in variety of sizes 2’s , 4’s and 6’s, in a variety of patterns, SHRIMP, STREAMER, CRAB Styles in Light to Medium TAN color. Also add a few tarpon and Barracuda Flies and your all set. 

    • Spinning rod, tube lures.  4-6inch Top WATER Neutral bouncy lures in silver, white color are all good for the toothy critters.

ACCESSORIES

ACCESSORIES 

  • Snips for cutting tippet

  • Fishing Pliers, needle nose best! 

  • POLARIZED SUNGLASSES - Wrap around- LENS COLOR -  Copper, Amber, Vermillion, Crome POP 

  • Light Boat Shoes or FLIP FLOPS preferred.    Standard WADING boots or light weight water booties are fine for any wading here.

CLOTHING 

  • Sun Protection-  UPF30-50 rated clothing, long sleeve shirts and Pants.

  • Light RAIN JACKET good to have with a hoody. 

  • Face cover HOORAG or BUFF is always good for extra protection.

  • Light Boat Shoes or FLIP FLOPS preferred.    Standard Wading boots or light wait water booties are fine for any wading that you many encounter. ​​

ON ARRIVAL 

AIRPORT TRANSFERS

We do NOT include transfers within the cost of the Trip.   However we often arrange your transfer If we have your flight details.

NOTE

  • CLIENTS ARRIVING COMMERCIALLY - If transfers have been arranged please look for a sign with your name on it once you exit the terminal. If for some reason a driver is not there please grab one of the many taxi’s to PELICAN BAY HOTEL. Normally around $30-$40 for 2 people.

  • CLIENTS ARRIVING ON PRIVATE - If transfers have been arranged please ensure we have your ETA & TAIL NUMBER which allow us entrance to the private area of the airport. If a driver is not there then please grab a taxi’s to PELICAN BAY HOTEL.

CHECK-IN

  • CHECK-IN  All reservations are pre arranged and already PAID for.  

  • Normal check in time is 3pm, but 90% of the time you should be able to check in early.

​NOTE:

  • ​​You will need to leave credit card details for incidentals

ORIENTATION

  • Around 5.30-6pm at BONES on arrival day. Jason or one of H2o/ Bones crew will give you a full briefing  start times

NOTE:

  • We suggest you bring your fly box with you for orientation. 

  • ​If we are unable to meet due to delays.  start time for fishing is 7.45am in parking lot as shown by white star in adjacent picture.
