'On the fly' our 31 contender offers a unique program, it provides fly fishing excursions for yellowfin tuna, dorado (mahi-mahi), skip jack tuna, blacken tuna either as a full day of fishing or uniquely you can fish the flats in the morning and head offshore in the afternoon.
Schools of yellowfin tuna move into local waters in April to supplement other tuna species and of course the ever present Dorado, All are targeted offshore until September. Yellowfin tuna average 15- to 25- pounds and have been landed up to 60- pounds on fly. Mahi mahi vary greatly in size from small schoolie fish to 50 lb monster bull dolphin
An appealing aspect of fly fishing offshore is the bite time which turns on late afternoon and early evening, This allows our anglers to fish the flats and also have the option to experience the action offshore on the very same day. Alternatively you may want to utilize this program for arrival or departure days.
All fly fishing equipment is included in our offshore program, This means we provide all the specialty fly rods, reels, leaders and flies for these trips. Due to the nature of this program and the ever changing fuel prices please call for an exact price.
